Police recovered the body of a female garment worker from a septic tank of a house at Bhauraid Uttarpara area in Gazipur city on Saturday morning.
The dead woman was Afroza, wife of Shahjahan Chowdhury and an employee of 'Shyamoli Garments' in Salna area.
Local people spotted the body in the septic tank in the morning and informed police, according to Samir Kumar, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
Police, while recovering the body said they suspect that Afroza's husband Shahjahan, worker of a steel factory, might have strangled her to death and then hid the body inside the septic tank, reports UNB.
Locals said that the couple used to lock into quarrel quiet often as Shahjahan used to suspect that his wife had an extra-marital affair.
