Police detained AKM Fahim Mashroor, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of bdjobs.com, on Wednesday from Karwan Bazar area of Dhaka.
The law enforcers detained him around 1pm over his Facebook post ridiculing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the government, said ADC Nazmul Islam of Cyber Crime Unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Actions will be taken under the Information and Communication Technology Act against him, he added.
According to bdnews24.com, Mashroor launched the job site about 18 years ago. He is also the chief executive of social media Beshto and e-commerce site Ajkerdeal.com.
He was the president of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services or BASIS—the country’s biggest platform of the software and information technology.
Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP, said a team of police detained Fahim from the 7th floor of Bangladesh Development Bank Limited Bhaban.
According to UNB, Masudur Rahman said, police detained Fahim Mashroor for interrogation.
