A man, accused of raping a seventh grader, was arrested from Khajura in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila on Wednesday.
Police shot Badsha in the leg when he attacked them with a sharp weapon, said Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
The law enforcers raided the area acting on a tip-off to arrest him, according to a UNB report.
Badsha reportedly raped a class VII student of Khajura on August 13 when she had gone out of her home.
Her father filed a case at the Sadar Police Station.
