Police arrested three operatives of the militant outfit Neo-Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from the city's Gulshan area on Friday night.
A joint team of the Counter Terrorism Unit of Police Headquarters and Bogra district police arrested Abu Turab Khan,56, Sadia Hosna Lakyee, 46, and Tajrin Khanom Shuvo,29, from house no-12, road no 127 at Gulshan around 9.30pm on Friday, said a police official.
The arrestees will be sent to the court seeking remand, he also said, reports BSS.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees confessed their link to the Neo-JMB saying that they joined the militant group after taking lessons from Akram Hossain Khan Niloy, one of the top leaders of the Neo-JMB, he added.
Niloy was the mastermind of a plot to carry out bomb attacks on programmes of the national mourning day on August 15, 2017.
But, police foiled the plan after conducting a raid "August Bite" at Olio International Hotel at Panthapath in the city. A suicide bomber Saiful Islam blew him during the raid.
A case was lodged with Kalabagan Police Station to this end the next day.
