Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday received cheques in donation from different ministries, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), and private organisations to her Relief and Welfare Fund.
Prime Minister Sheikh received the cheques at her office, reports UNB.
The Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Information Ministry and Energy Division donated one day's salary of their staff to the fund.
Confidence Group and Australia Awami League are the other organisations which provided donations to the fund.
Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Secretary M Shahid Ullah Khandakar and Rajuk Chairman Abdur Rahman handed over the cheque of the ministry to the Prime Minister.
Information Secretary Sheikh Martuza Ahmed and Additional Secretary Monjurur Rahman handed over a cheque on behalf of the Ministry of Information to the Prime Minister.
PM's adviser on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Dr Tawfique-e-Elahi Chowdhury, State Minister Nasrul Hamid, Energy Division Secretary Nazim Uddin Chowdhury, Petrobangla Chairman Abul Monsur M Fayezullah and chairman of BERC Rahamtul Munim handed over the cheque of the Energy Division to the Prime Minister.
Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hasan, and senior officials handed over the BCB cheque to the Prime Minister.
