Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the newly-constructed Chancery Complex of Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh of Saudi Arabia.

She launched the two-storey complex unveiling its plaque at a ceremony at around 3 pm (local time) at the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh on Wednesday, report UNB, bdnews24.com.

The Prime Minister during her visit to Saudi Arabia in June 2016 laid the foundation stone of the 3,819 square metre complex.

The Chancery Complex was constructed with a cost of Tk 514.70 million.

The Prime Minister planted a sapling on the premises of the Bangladesh Embassy.

The Gulf kingdom hosts the largest number of Bangladeshi expatriates.

Hasina opened the building there after a meeting with King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.

She told reporters at the embassy that she had a ‘very good’ discussion with the Saudi king.

King Salman said he would visit Bangladesh when she invited him, according to the Prime Minister.

Hasina arrived in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday on a four-day tour at the invitation of the king.

She attended a business seminar hosted by the Council of Saudi Chambers earlier on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister will perform Umrah in Makkah and offer prayers at the grave of Prophet Muhammad in Madinah on Thursday before returning home the next day.
