5,603 higher secondary students are set to receive stipend from Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) on Thursday.
Each student will receive Tk 12,000 from PKSP from the foundation’s fund. PKSP spent a total of Tk 60.72 million to this effect.
PKSP handed over cheques to its associate organisations’ managing directors. The associate organisation will hand over the cheque to previously selected students accordingly, said a press release of PKSF.
Some 3,100 female students and 2,503 male students will get the financial support while some 725 students from marginalised communities will have the scholarship in special consideration.
PKSF chairman Dr Kazi Khaliquzzaman was present as the chief guest at the event. Managing director of PKSF Md Abdul Karim presided over the event.
The foundation asks students to file applications through its associate non-government organisations. Then the NGOs provide the money to the students. PKSF spent Tk 270.2 million in total from 2012 till date, the release added.
