Claiming that the country's people are now living in peace, Health Minister Mohammed Nasim on Monday said they will not respond to BNP's call for any movement to get their chairperson Khaleda Zia freed from jail.
"Country's people won't respond to the call of any movement for the release of the chairperson of a party which tortured people and patronised militancy. They won't take to the street. Khaleda Zia has no alternative but to fight legally to be freed from jail," he said.
The minister was talking to reporters after visiting work on Swadhinata Square in Kazipur upazila headquarters, reports UNB.
He also said BNP will not be allowed to kill people in arson attacks in the name of movement.
"There's a reign of militancy, terrorism and corruption during the regime of BNP whereas Sheikh Hasina has turned the country into a role model before the world," Nasim added.
