PEC, Ebtedayee pass rates fall to 95.5pc and 95.96pc

The pass rate in Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Ebtedayee exams have declined to 95.5 per cent and 95.96 per cent respectively.

In the PEC exams, 326,088 students have secured GPA-5, while 11,877 Ebtedayee students have achieved GPA-5, according to results published by the government on Tuesday.

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain presented summaries of the results to Sheikh Hasina at the prime minister’s official residence in Dhaka on Tuesday morning.

Later, the he presented reporters with the details of the results at the Secretariat, reports bdnews24.

Last year, 97.59 per cent of examinees passed PEC exams while 97.69 per cent passed their Ebtedayee exams.

In comparison, the pass rate of primary students has fallen by 2.09 percentage points and the pass rate in Ebtedayee exams has declined by 1.73 percentage points.

Earlier in the day, the results of school certificate examinations for fifth and eighth graders were handed to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence in the capital.
