Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has said after the effective implementation of the National Payment Gateway, people will be able to pay trade license fees through online soon.
He also proposed that a seven-day long camp can be organised at the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) office so that the members of the Chamber could especially avail the facilities of trade license renewal from it.
The Mayor said till June 2022, DSCC earned Tk 8.79 billion without increasing any tax. For creating a business and investment-friendly environment, the Corporation would make Dhaka a smart city, he added.
Taposh said this when the Board of Directors of DCCI, led by its President Barrister Md. Sameer Sattar, called on him at Nagar Bhaban in the capital on Thursday, reports BSS.
The DSCC Mayor also informed that they would take an initiative to establish IoT based traffic signal system in the city to avoid traffic congestion.
During the discussion, DCCI President Barrister Md. Sameer Sattar urged for automation of the application and renewal process of trade licenses including online fee submission through an integrated payment gateway.
He also proposed to establish a booth at DCCI to provide trade license service on behalf of DSCC or enter into an MoU for this purpose.
Sameer also sought DSCC's special attention to address huge traffic congestion that heavily affects commuters, costs energy and damages important working hours which is related to doing business context.
He also requested the Mayor to consider issuance of trade licenses to the young startups which do not have any commercial addresses but do their businesses from home or online.
