British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert Chatterton Dickson on Wednesday said, upon successful production of Oxford vaccine it would be made available throughout the world including in Bangladesh.
He also said the coronavirus vaccine would be made available on the basis of “priority by need, not priority by wealth.”
The British envoy said this while addressing a discussion organised virtually by the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB).
The event was moderated by DCAB president Angur Nahar Monty.
While discussing the pandemic issue, Dickson said, “UK is fighting for the equitable access of vaccine in global level.”
"There are companies here (in Bangladesh) who are well equipped to produce the vaccine if they are given the technology," he added.
Responding to a question, the envoy said, If Khaleda Zia wants to visit the UK for treatment after getting permission from the government, the UK High Commission will be happy to process her visa application.
