A sudden explosion in a building has left four people injured in the capital’s Old Dhaka area, according to the fire department.
Confirming the matter, Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters’ deputy assistant director Shajahan Sikder said the incident took place at Bangshal's Aga Sadeq Road in Old Dhaka at about 4:40 am on Saturday.
The building partially collapsed due to the explosion, he said.
However, the reason behind the accident could not be known instantly.
Of the injured, the firefighters rescued one and sent him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment, Sikder said.
The locals took three others to the hospital before the firefighters arrived at the spot, he added.
