Senior leaders of newly formed Jatiya Oikyafront are briefing foreign diplomats stationed in Dhaka at a city hotel on Thursday afternoon about the country's latest political situation and the alliance's position on the next general election.
On behalf of Oikyafront leaders Dr Kamal Hossain started briefing diplomats around 3:10pm, reports UNB.
Diplomats from different countries, foreign agencies and international bodies joined the programme.
Senior BNP and Oikyafront leaders are also present at the closed-door programme.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Oikya Front leaders at a meeting at JSD president ASM Abdur Rob's Uttara residence decided to hold a rally in Sylhet on October 23.
On October 13, BNP together with Dr Kamal-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya, JSD and Nagorik Oikya launched the Jatiy Oikya Front to press for their seven-point demand, including holding the next polls under a non-party administration.
