Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia has warned that no human hauler (locally named as Leguna) will be allowed to ply on the streets of the capital city.

"Due to this type of vehicles, major chaotic situations created on the street and those are one of the main causes of road accidents," DMP commissioner said while addressing a press conference organised on the month-long traffic management programme at its media centre on Tuesday.

The DMP chief also said a huge number of human haulers are carrying people illegally on Dhaka streets as those vehicles do not have any route permit, according to a UNB report.

These vehicles can only ply on the roads outside the city like the 300-feet or in Bashila areas, Asaduzzaman added.
