No coronavirus was found in the samples of eight persons who were admitted in Kurmitola General Hospital and Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on February 01 after returning from Wuhan in China.
Of them, seven were sent back to Ashkona Hajj Camp on Sunday for quarantine while another-- a pregnant woman-- remained in CMH.
Moreover, one returnee with high temprerature was admitted to Kurmitola General Hospital on Sunday.
However, there are now eight persons with three old and five new suspects in quarantine at CMH in Dhaka.
The information was revealed at a press briefing at the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control & Research (IEDCR) on Monday.
IEDCR Director Mirzady Sabrina Flora spoke to the media during the briefing.
As many as 312 Bangladeshis were brought back from Wuhan city on 01 February.
Ms Flora said that primarily three airlines—China Southern, China Eastern and US Bangla—were under monitoring by IEDCR. Now it has been decided to bring all other local and international airlines under monitoring and to provide them with health forms so that the passengers can fill up those after coming back home, she added.
Answering a question, she said that they have not yet got the list of all the returnees from China since 18 January, which was supposed to be submitted to the DCs, SPs and civil surgeons.
But the Chinese nationals have been reporting their health condition regularly and are kept in quarantine under the supervision of their own physicians, she added.
Ms Flora said no other Bangladeshi can return further from Wuhan as the communication has been totally suspended.
