New Telecom and IT Minister Mustafa Jabbar has said he wants to approach telecommunication regulator BTRC with a supportive mentality and not a restrictive one.
Jabbar came up with the remarks on Thursday in response to a question from the media during a meeting with ICT division officials.
Asked about his initiatives regarding the tension between the Telecommunications Division and the BTRC, Jabbar responded that even if the BTRC performed all its assigned duties, it could not continue its work alone, reports bdnews24.
“The heart of the matter is to ensure that it is working for the betterment of people. I do not believe the ministry has to tie up the BTRC and then tell them to go do their job.” he added.
