A Dhaka court on Tuesday granted bail to female entrepreneur Faria Mahjabin in a case filed for spreading 'rumours' on Facebook over the recent student movement for road safety.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Haque granted the bail when her lawyer Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua filed a petition seeking bail for her, reports UNB.
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Faria Majhabin, owner of Nerdy Bean Coffee Haus in Dhanmondi, on August 16 for 'instigating' the recent student movement for road safety through uploading 'provocative' audio clips and posting status and 'fake' photos on Facebook.
The elite force also recovered her personal mobile phone set, a print copy of her Facebook profile and an audio clip.
On August 17, Metropolitan Magistrate AKM Mainuddin Siddiqui placed her on a three-day remand when sub-inspector Majedul Islam of Hazaribagh Police Station, also the investigation officer of the case, produced her before his court seeking a seven-day remand.
