Bangladesh is observing the World Egg Day today with over 40 countries of the world simultaneously.
Department of Livestock Services (DLS) and Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council (BPICC) are selling egg at special discount of Tk 3 each egg, reports a news agency.
Eggs are being sold from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Krishibid Institution at Khamarbari in Dhaka, sources said.
Earlier, BPICC President Mashiur Rahman said preparations were taken to observe the day across the country in a befitting manner.
Marking the day, procession will be brought out and discussions will be staged at divisional cities under the arrangement of BPICC and DPS, he said.
In the district towns, DPS and different organisation of professionals are observing the World Egg Day.
A colourful procession brought out from Krishibid Institution in the capital and returned to the venue after marching different city streets.
