Nasrul vows uninterrupted power supply

The government will put the special law into effect, if necessary, formulated to set grid and build substation to lessen public sufferings.  

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral resources Nasrul Hamid said it on Saturday at the general managers’ (GM) conference 2018 held at the REB’s headquarters in the capital.

The Quick Enhancement of Electricity and Energy Supply (Special Provisions) Act, 2010 is to make special provisions for facilitating effective and urgent measures to enhance the generation, transmission, transportation and marketing of electricity and energy with a view to ensuring uninterrupted supply of electricity.

He urged also the general managers’ of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) to resolve all problems within three months for uninterrupted power supply to the customers. 

BERB chairman Major General Mr Moin Uddin made a presentation.

Power division secretary Ahmad Kaikaus, Power Development Board chairman Khaled Mahmud , Power Cell director general Mohammad Hossain,  and PGCB Managing Director Masum-Al-Beruni, among others, also spoke on the occasion.
