Home Minster Asaduzzaman Khan has said action will be taken against those who were seen carrying firearms during Tuesday's clash in Narayanganj.
The minister said this after inaugurating a revamped rehab centre under Department of Narcotics Control in Tejgaon on Thursday.
“Each of the gun holders will be spotted by going through the video footages. We are doing all necessary things in this regard,” he added.
In reply to a query, he said investigation was underway to find out the cause of the clash, reports UNB.
The minister expressed firm resolve to control narcotics at any cost. He feared, otherwise, "Bangladesh will lose its path if we fail to control the menace."
At least 50 people, including seven policemen and five journalists, were injured in a clash ensued over politically-backed hawkers defying a Narayanganj Mayor-led drive against illegal occupants of the city's footpaths on Tuesday.
