The government has made Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury acting Secretary of the Finance Division under the Finance Ministry.
An official of the BCS 1984 batch (Audit and Accounts Cadre), Muslim Chowdhury was working as the Additional Secretary to the Finance Division prior to his new assignment, reports UNB.
Chowdhury is one of the pioneers of Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) policy formulation and was associated with the reforms of budget and financial sector, implementation of I BAS++, and the simplification of pension system.
He was also associated with the Board of Directors of various banks and financial institutions like Sonali Bank, Krishi Bank, SDF, managing director and CEO of BIFFL, Director of the Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, Eastern Refinery Limited apart from working for Dhaka BRT Company.
Muslim Chowdhury obtained his Master’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Chittagong and then MSC degree in Finance with distinction from the University of Birmingham in the UK.
