An official of Pran-RFL company was stabbed dead allegedly by muggers at Tongi College Gate in Gazipur on early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Kamrul Islam, zonal manager RFL Sylhet office and son of late Abul Kashem in Naogaon.
Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Tongi Purbo Police Station, said on information police recovered the body of Kamrul from the spot and sent it to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy, UNB reported.
Muggers might have attacked Kamrul when he got off a bus in front of College Gate area around 4 am and snatched his mobile phone set, a laptop, and other belongings after stabbing him to death, said police quoting his coworkers.
Locals said mugging take place regularly in College Gate and Hossain Market areas.
