More rains are likely to cool off Bangladesh in the next 24 hours, the weather department said Saturday.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and intense lightning flashes is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The weather department recorded 282mm rainfall - the highest - in Sylhet in the last 24 hours till 6pm Saturday, according to UNB.
The mercury reached 34.5 degrees Celsius - the highest - in Rajshahi's Tarash, while the minimum temperature was 22 degrees in Chattogram's Sitakunda.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the BMD said.
