Four members of a family sustained burn injuries in a fire incident that occurred in the capital’s Mohammadpur area on Monday morning.
The fire broke out in a tin-shed house around 8:00am in Tikapara of Mohammadpur.
Police sources said the fire might have broken out from an electric short circuit.
The victims were identified as Wasik Mia, 40, a rickshaw-puller, his wife Rokeya Begum, 35, and their daughters -- Shova, 20, and Mukta, 14.
Jamal Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Mohammadpur Police Station said the victims were rushed to Dhaka Medical College hospital.
The injured family members are now out of danger, he told the FE till filing the report at 8:00pm.
Local residents shortly managed to douse the flame.
