Several places across the country are likely to witness rain/thunder showers with intense lightning flashes, accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind in the next 24 hours commencing from 9:00am, the Met office said in a forecast.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in a forecast said rain/thunder showers with intense lightning flashes accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Chattogram divisions.
Mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna and Chuadanga and it may continue, it stated.
Dr Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik, a meteorologist, told the Financial Express (FE) that there would be no major shift of weather.
Heat wave will not spread in the coming days, he added.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, the BMD said.
In its outlook for the next 72-hour it said rain/thunder showers activity is likely to continue.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, as per the bulletin.
Trough of westerly low lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining area, it said, adding that seasonal low lies over South Bay.
