Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in 24 hours as of 9 am Monday.
It also may occur at many places over Rajshahi division with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country during the period, said a met office press release in Dhaka on Sunday.
It added that heavy rainfall is likely in Sylhet, Mymensingh divisions, and warned that due to the influence, landslides may occur at places over the hilly regions.
Trough of low extends from Bihar to Northwest Bay across Gangetic West Bengal, the release said, adding that southwest monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.
Day and night temperature may fall by 1-2 degrees Celsius over the country by Monday morning.
The maximum temperature was recorded 37.4 degrees Celsius Saturday in Rajshahi and Sunday’s minimum temperature 24.0 degrees Celsius at Dimla in Rangpur division.
The highest rainfall in the last 24-hour as of 6 am Sunday was recorded 185 mm at Sandwip in Chattogram division, reports BSS.
