Most parts of the country, including Dhaka, may witness light to heavy rainfall in the next 24-hour period starting from 9:00am on Saturday, according to a met office bulletin.

The 24-hour bulletin, issued by Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), said rain/thunder showers with intense lightning flashes and temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

However, mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Jashore and Satkhira and it may abate, the BMD bulletin said.

The well marked low over Gulf of Martaban and adjoining Myanmar intensified into a depression first and then weakened into a well marked low over Northwest Thailand and adjoining Myanmar,
