Met office on Monday advised maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Pyra to hoist local cautionary signal number three as deep convection is taking place over North Bay.
"Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh due to the convection" added the bulletin where they issued the caution, as per a report on BSS.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further.
The weather bulletin also said light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country.
