The law minister on Sunday ensured of taking measures to stop misuse o digital security act.
The law minister said after a meeting with the representatives of UN bodies including human rights, UNDP and number of countries ambassador to Dhaka.
Government passed the law in order to check cyber crime not to control freedom of speech and media, and necessary steps will be taken to ensure its proper enforcement, the minister said.
The law minister also mentioned that the UN representatives and others urged the government to take necessary steps to upgrade the National Human rights Commission from grade B to A.
They also ensured to provide necessary help to this effect.
Besides, it also advocated taking opinion from the country’s civil society in appointing NHRC chairman to keep maximum acceptance, added the minister.
The minister said that the UN representatives also recommended for enhancing monitor on the digital security issue.
The law ministry boss mentioned that discussion is going on in this regard with the home ministry.
