Many people were feared drowned as a boat carrying Rohingya refugees overturned and sank in Naaf River in Teknaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Sunday.
Police, CoastGuard and BGB members rescued at least eight people from the river around one hour after the Rohingya-packed wooden boat capsized near Shah Parir Dwip today.
Rescue works were continuing till filing of this report around 11:30pm.
