Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived on Sunday in Dhaka to discuss the Rohingya crisis as Dhaka spearheads diplomatic endevour to engage international community for its resolution, reports BSS.
A foreign office statement said Hamidi was set to meet Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali later on Sunday to discuss bilateral as well as Rohingya issues as he arrived in Dhaka earlier this morning along with his spouse Hamidah binti Khamis, Malaysia's minister of Human Resources Dr Richard Riot Anak Jaem and senior officials on a two-day visit.
Secretary (Bilateral and Consular) Kamrul Ahsan and Malaysian High Commissioner in Dhaka Nur Ashikin Binti Mohd Taib received the delegation at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The statement said Ali would host a dinner in their honour while the Malaysian deputy premier was expected to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and relevant ministers alongside visiting the Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar on Monday.
