Detectives in a drive arrested two people including the principal of a madrasa from Foyla area in Rampal upazila on Friday night in a case filed over violating a 11-year student of the madrasa.
The arrestees are Oliur Rahman, the principal of Shorafpur Keramotia Fazil Madrasa and ‘rapist’ Ferdous Sheikh, 19 of Shorafpur village, also a grocery shop owner.
Lutfar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Rampal Police Station, said the girl, hailing from Naogaon district and a class II student, used to live at madrasa dormitory. Ferdous entered into the madrasa in the night of April 11 and violated the girl.
Later in the day, the victim shared the incident with her classmates, but the madrasa principal and hostel super tried to cover up the incident.
Following the incident, the girl's uncle filed a case against four people on Friday afternoon mentioning Ferdous as the prime accused, according to a UNB report.
Besides, Oliur Rahman, his wife and the hostel super were also made accused as they tried to conceal the incident.
Meanwhile, the girl was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital on Saturday for medical test.
