A low pressure area is likely to form over Andaman Sea and adjoining areas in the next 72-hour, according to a Met office bulletin issued on Thursday morning.
The 24-hour bulletin also said rain/thunder showers with intense lightning flashes and temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions commencing from 9:00am today (Thursday).
Trough of westerly low lies over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining area, it said, adding that seasonal low lies over South Bay.
Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country, as per the bulletin.
The country’s highest temperature was recorded at 34.3 degree Celsius at Khepupara on Wednesday while Dhaka reported 31.9 degree Celsius, it added.
