The Dhaka south and north city corporations have jointly introduced hotline 09611000999 aimed at cleaning waste of sacrificial animals within 24 hours, reports BSS.
The hotline is mainly introduced to ease public sufferings and facilitate complaints of waste management and cleanliness during the vacation of Holy Eid-ul-Azha.
Authorities of the two city corporations have urged the city dwellers to give suggestions or lodge complaints to the city corporations over the hotline regarding waste management.
Around 30 tonnes of waste will be generated as 0.5 million (five lakh) cattle will be slaughtered in the city corporations on the occasion.
As many as around 21,000 cleaners of both the city corporations will be engaged in cleaning the waste.
The city corporations have a plan of distributing 0.175 million (1.75 lakh) bags among the citydwellers ahead of the Eid.
