Liton gets big win in RCC mayoral election

Awami League mayoral candidate AHM Khairuzzaman Liton has unofficially won the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) elections.

As per various local television channels’ reports, the ruling party’s Liton has bagged a total of 1,63,394 votes. His nearest rival BNP candidate Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul got 78, 492 votes.

A total of 3,18,138 voters casted their ballot in Rajshahi at 138 polls centres. Among them, 1,56,085 are male and 1,62,053 are female, said Election Commission sources.
