Light to moderate rains likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rains or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at many places over Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country," said a met office bulletin issued here.

Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, it added.

Country's maximum temperature on Friday was recorded 33.8 degree Celsius at Chuadanga in Khulna division while today's minimum temperature 24.2 degree Celsius was recorded in Tangail.

Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 118 millimeters (mm) at Sandwip in Chattogram division.

The sun sets at 6:33pm today and rises at 5:34 am tomorrow in the capital.
