Light to moderate rain likely in parts of Bangladesh

Bangladesh Meteorological Department today (Sunday) predicted that rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9:00am.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country," said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.

Day temperature may fall by (1-3) degrees Celsius and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it added, reports BSS.

The highest temperature on Saturday was recorded 36.5 degrees Celsius jointly in Tarash and Sayedpur, while today's minimum temperature was 21.0 degree Celsius in Srimangal.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours was recorded 50mm in Feni.

The sun sets at 5:45pm today and rises at 5:51am tomorrow in the capital.
