Light to heavy rainfall is likely to occur in most parts of the country including Dhaka in the next 72-hour until Thursday, according to a met office bulletin.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in its 24-hour forecast said light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, at many places over Chattogram division, at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls.
In its 72-hour outlook, the BMD stated that the rainfall is likely to continue.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh, it said, adding that one of its associated trough extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.
Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, the bulletin said.
The highest temperature, 35.3 degree Celsius, was recorded in Ishwardi on Monday, it added.
