A legal notice has been sent to the concerned bodies of the government demanding to resume the transfer process of the government primary school teachers across the country within seven days.
Primary and Mass Education Secretary, Director General of the Directorate of the Primary Education, Director (Policy and Operation) of the Directorate of the Primary Education, Deputy Directors of all Divisional Offices of Primary Education and all District Primary Education Officers have been asked to comply with the notice.
"Otherwise, appropriate legal actions will be taken against the respondents following the law," the letter also warned.
Supreme Court lawyer Siddique Ullah Miah sent the notice on Monday on behalf of Tania Akter, an Assistant Teacher of a primary school in Narayanganj, and others.
Mr Siddique Ullah Miah said primary teachers across the country are facing immense problems due to the stoppage of the transfer process since 2019.
All the government institutions are continuing their transfer process as per their service rule, however, the primary department has stopped the process which is also a clear violation of the Constitution, added the lawyer.
