As part of the observance of the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh Embassy in Mexico has published the Latin American version of Bangabandhu's autobiography "Unfinished Memoirs".
The Latin American version of the book was unveiled at a function at the Lower House of the Mexican Parliament on Tuesday, according to a message from Bangladesh Embassy in Mexico received in Dhaka on Wednesday, reports BSS.
The book will be available at local bookstores in Mexico and on virtual platforms as well, it read.
Federal Deputy and Chair of Mexico-Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship Group Rosalinda Dominguez Flores, MP, was present at the event as the guest of honour while the Federal Deputy Jos, Miguel de la Cruz Lima and Director General of Asia Pacific Wing of the Mexican Foreign Ministry Fermando Gonz lez Saiffe were present at the event as special guests.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Mexico City Abida Islam gave concluding remarks at the event.
Other members of the Mexico-Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship Group including local dignitaries think tanks, media personnel and officials of the embassy were also present at the function.
Expressing her deepest gratitude to Bangladesh Embassy for inviting her to the historic event, Flores, in her welcome remarks, said that such events would further enhance solidarity between Bangladesh and Mexico.
Federal Deputy Cruz also commended the Bangladesh Embassy for the event and expressed optimism that with the Latin American edition, the young politicians of Mexico would be able to learn more about Bangabandhu.
In a video message, screened at the event, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen hoped that this publication would enhance the knowledge of Latin American readers about the political history of Bangladesh as well as the political vision of Bangabandhu that inspired the whole nation to build
"Golden Bangla'- an exploitation-free, fair, peaceful and just society.
A video message from the Curator of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum Md Nazrul Islam Khan was also screened at the function.
