Bangladesh Judicial Service Association (BJSA), a platform of lower court judges, has alleged that the country's six renowned lawyers are engaged in an evil attempt to politicise the Masdar Hossain case.
The allegation was made in a statement on Wednesday issued by association President SM Quddus Zaman, also Dhaka District and Session's Judge, and acting Secretary General Bikash Kumar Saha, also Joint Secretary to the Law Ministry.
It has also decided to revoke the power given to Dr Kamal Hossain and Barrister Amir Ul Islam to conduct the Masdar Hossain case, the statement said.
Mentioning that it has no dissatisfaction over the disciplinary rules for the lower court judges, BSJA urged the six lawyers not to make any negative comments over the rules, reports UNB.
"As the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court accepted the rules and as the lower court judges have no dissatisfaction over those, the lawyers who gave a statement are urged not to make any negative comments over the matter," the statement read.
The statement said although Dr Kamal Hossain, Barrister Mainul Hosein and AF Hasan Ariff served as law minister and law advisers, they did not take any step to formulate the disciplinary rules for the trial court judges.
Earlier in the day, the Appellate Division accepted the gazette notification on the disciplinary rules.
On January 1 last, the six senior lawyers in a statement expressed grave concern over the disciplinary rules for the lower court judges.
