The Jatiya Sangsad (JS) budget session for 2018-19 fiscal will begin on Tuesday.
Earlier on May 15, President M Abdul Hamid summoned the session exercising the power bestowed upon him by the Article 72 (1) of the country’s Constitution.
It is the 21st session of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad. It will be the last budget of the incumbent Awami League government.
The House proceeding will begin at 11:00am with Parliament Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury in the chair, reports BSS.
Before commencing the session, a meeting of the JS Working Advisory Committee will fix the schedule of country’s 47th and fifth budget of the current government.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will place the budget proposal for 2018-19 fiscal on June 7.
As the finance minister, Muhith will be placing his 12th budget. Muhith placed his first budget for 1982-83 fiscal during the Ershad government.
