At least eight people, including three children, were killed and over 30 others injured as a bus plunged into a ditch on the Bogura-Jashore road at Baniapara at the Sadar upazila in Joypurhat on Friday.
The accident occurred around 1:30pm as the driver loss his control over the steering, said Mominul Islam, officer-in-charge at the Sadar Police Station.
Police could not identify the casualties immediately.
A team of fire service recovered the bodies and rescued the injured people, of whom 24 people were rushed to Adhunik District Hospital, UNB reported.
The bus was bound for Bogura from Joypurhat.
