A police officer was killed on Mondayafternoon in a road accident at Nabnagar area of Jhikargacha upazila on Jashore- Benapole Highway.
The deceased was identified as Ahsanullah, 36, in-charge of Chingra Police Camp in Keshabpur upazila and resident of Abdullahpur in Munshiganj sadar upazla, according to UNB.
Additional superintendent of Jeshore police, Naimur Rahman said that the incident took place when a good-laden truck hit Ahsanullah's motor-cycle at around3pm, killing him on the spot.
The police seized the truck, but its driver, however, managed to flee.
