Islamic Foundation urges devotees to offer Shab-e-Barat prayers at home

The Islamic Foundation on Saturday in a statement urged all Muslims in the country to offer prayers on the holy Shab-e-Barat at home to prevent the coronavirus pandemic.

“All have been specially requested to say prayers on the night of Shab-e-Barat on April 9 by staying at their respective residences,” said an IF statement signed by Anis Mahmud, director general of the Islamic Foundation.

The statement also said the Shab-e-Barat will be observed this time on the night of April 9 (Thursday).

The foundation called for keeping participation in Jumma and regular prayers limited at mosques and requested all to perform ‘Oju’, ‘nafal’ and ‘sunnat’ prayers at home.

The Islamic Foundation, a statutory body under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, also said in the statement that it earlier requested all the Muslims across the country to limit their presence during Juma and five-time prayers at mosques to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

The foundation also urged all to follow the instructions time to time issued by the government to tackle the pandemic.
