Internet users in Bangladesh jumped by 29.7 per cent within a year, according to the new 2018 Global Digital suite of reports from We Are Social and Hootsuite.
It showed that total number of internet users stood at 81.66 million by the end of 2017.
Thus, some 49 per cent of the total population of the country are now using internet.
More than 90 per cent of the Bangladeshi internet users are using their mobile phone devices to access the web.
The report mentioned that the number of internet users through the mobile phone devices stood 76.22 million.
The new 2018 Global Digital suite of reports also revealed that there are now more than 4 billion people around the world using the internet.
Well over half of the world’s population is now online, with the latest data showing that nearly a quarter of a billion new users came online for the first time in 2017.
