The number of internet users in Bangladesh declined by 0.69 million in April 2022 compared to March, according to BTRC.
However, the country's four cell phone operators registered 0.46 million more mobile SIM (subscriber's identity module) cards, showing data recently released by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
On the other hand, the country's four mobile phone operators registered 1.38 million more mobile SIM (subscriber's identity module) cards and 2.1 million internet subscribers in March.
The total number of internet users in Bangladesh stood at 124.20 million in April while the number of mobile internet users stood at 183.38 million in April.
At the end of March, the total number of mobile phone subscribers reached 182.92 million while the number of internet users stood at 124.89 million, the telecom regulator said.
In February, the total number of mobile phone subscribers was 181.54 million and internet subscribers were 122.89 million.
Among all, the country's largest mobile phone operator Grameenphone received 0.4 million new subscribers in April, bringing its total to 84.27 million.
At the same time, the third largest operator Banglalink secured 0.16 million new subscribers in April, its total subscribers reached 38.25 million.
Robi Axiata Limited declined by 0.07 million in April, compared to March subscribers, taking the total to 54.00 million.
State-owned operator Teletalk also declined by 0.03 million subscribers in April, compared to March, registering 6.86 million users in total.
Robi Axiata Limited registered a total to 54.07 million in March while the state-owned operator Teletalk registered 6.89 million users in total in April.
