Election Commission Secretary Helaluddin Ahmad on Wednesday said the commission is considering to slowdown internet speed on the polling day of the 11th parliamentary election slated for December 30.
The EC secretary came up with the announcement while briefing officials related to the election result management at Election Training Centre (ETI) at city’s Nirbachan Bhaban in the morning.
However, the speed of the internet will come to normal after 4:00 pm on the day for smooth communication.
Besides, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda urged the officials not to make any mistake while counting votes and announcing the result that might lose people's confidence on the commission.
He said, "The commission is amazed to see public interest centering the election and the festive mood that is prevailing across the country."
He further said the commission has also been considering suggestions given by the political parties and their candidates, reports UNB.
"Be cautious that a single mistake does not lead to thwart the election process," he told the officials.
ETI Director General Mostafa Faruk and its Director Forhad Hossain were also present at the briefing.
