As many as 737 diarrhoea patients were admitted to the icddr,b, an international health research institute in Dhaka, in the 14 hours till 2:00 pm on Saturday.
AKM Tariful Islam Khan, media manager, icddr,b confirmed this to The Financial Express (FE).
The growing number of diarrhoea patients put the hospital under huge pressure, he said.
On-duty doctors, nurses and health staff are also struggling to deal with the increasing number of patients, Mr Tariful stated.
A total of 1,274 patients were admitted to the hospital on Friday.
Earlier on Thursday, 1,285 diarrhoea patients got admitted to the icddr,b, while 1,331 on Wednesday and 1,317 on Tuesday.
