As many as 628 diarrhoea patients were admitted to the icddr,b, an international health research institute in Dhaka, in the 14 hours till 2:00 pm on Sunday.
AKM Tariful Islam Khan, media manager, icddr,b confirmed this to The Financial Express (FE).
The growing number of diarrhoea patients put the hospital under huge pressure, he said.
On-duty doctors, nurses and health staff are also struggling to deal with the increasing number of patients, Mr Tariful stated.
A total of 1,274 patients were admitted to the hospital on Saturday whereas the same number of patients got admitted to the hospital on Friday.
Earlier on Thursday, 1,285 diarrhoea patients got admitted to the icddr,b, while 1,331 on Wednesday and 1,317 on Tuesday.
